Rachael and Lauren came to Fiji for the first time. They were on a traveling holiday as they had gone to Thailand and Australia before coming to Fiji. This was a stopover after their island hopping holiday at Mana Island. They had a great flight to Fiji as they came from Australia so it was quick as well. Rachael and Lauren were volunteers at Medical Services Pacific.
“We heard about Nadi Bay Resort Hotel from a person that we met during our island hopping. We really love this place as it is so relaxing and quite. The staff at the hotel are very friendly as well and all our needs were greatly complied to, which is a bonus for this place. We really like the music band and the food is very delicious. Our tour hasn’t finished yet as we have to go to London and US of A. We visited Mana Island and Casteaway Island. The island is really stunning and relaxing. We would love to come back to Fiji and also make Nadi Bay Resort as one of our accommodators whilst we are in Fiji. From here we will be going to New Zealand and South America”, said the girls.
“Thank You very much for the wonderful stay and the great food”
Sitting down at the Whispers Restaurant was Sarah Cordell who came from Melbourne in Australia and was here in Fiji for the first time. Her visit was a holiday and also volunteering work at a Marine conservation organization known as the GVI. Sarah’s visit to Fiji was for 3 months and she really loved it here.
“I like the atmosphere and plus Nadi Bay Resort is so nice and quiet. It is easy for me to get around as it is close to all the amenities around. Since my visit, I have managed to go into Nadi town and even got some hand art (henna) on my hands as well. I’m just waiting for some members of the GVI group as they will be coming to here before we all make our way up to the ‘Moon Reef’. I have been involved in many volunteer works as such and also worked for at an Environmental Conservation Department,” said Sarah.
The GVI is an organization that has a mission to preserve marine biodiversity and to guarantee a long term food security for island communities in Fiji. There are many programs that the GVI is running throughout Fiji and these are mangrove tree planting, ecotourism project, conserving and protecting dolphins at the Moon Reef which is a tropical reef complex located 7.3km off the north-east coast of the main island of Viti Levu in the Fiji Islands.
“Nadi Bay Resort is a peaceful place to be and the food is very delicious. After my volunteer program, I will have a small holiday before going back to Australia. I would recommend this place to all my mates!” said Sarah.
Nadi Bay Resort Hotel was hosts to the McDonald’s Nadi seminar a few months ago. This was a wonderful occasion as staff and family members arrived at the 70- seat theater where the actual program began. They had refreshments before the program started and this was provided by the resort. With delicious finger food prepared by the chef and his staff, all the attendees had a good time.
They had a small presentation of certificates and entertainment after their program was concluded. The night wasn’t over yet as they had dinner awaiting them at the Mango restaurant close to the swimming pool. Delicious pizza and sauces were made by Chef John Petueli. The night went well for the recipients of the certificates and all the staff.
“We chose Nadi Bay Resort Hotel for our seminar because it was close to our restaurant and convenient for all of us. Everything was nicely arranged and very well presented. The dinner was delicious as well. Thank you very much Nadi Bay”, said the team leader.
These groups of students were on an educational trip from Travel Careers in Auckland and had one night stop over at Nadi Bay Resort Hotel before flying back to New Zealand. It was a training trip for them and they had great time in Fiji. Apart from their training, they also managed to go on the Blue Lagoon Cruise. It was the first time that they had been in Fiji and they enjoyed every moment of their stay.
“We really loved the cruise. The girls were very excited since they had never been here before. This resort is a great place as well. We all had a nice time relaxing here before we went back to New Zealand. The hospitality at this resort and everywhere around Fiji was just marvelous. It was warm and very welcoming. The atmosphere was so enticing. The food was so delicious and very well presented,” said Pallavi, the group leader.
“Thank you very much for the warm welcome and a sweet farewell Nadi Bay Resort Hotel. We wish to come back here soon,” exclaimed Pallavi.
Virginia or Ginny as known by everyone at Nadi Bay Resort Hotel came to Fiji from Bristol, England. She had been to Fiji before so this was not a new place for her and likewise her to everyone else. It was a break from work she needed and Fiji was like her second home away from home. It had been almost a month that she was here. To her being here for the first time made her come back to the hotel again and she said that she will always come around here whenever she got the opportunity.
“You can call it small yet this place is friendly and filled with people with big heart. The staff of this hotel go out of their way to help you when you are in need of anything. I personally decided that I don’t need to stay in a big extravagant resort to be comfortable. I think that you haven’t had the real taste of Fiji if you haven’t mingled around with the locals. This is like my second home. The owners are always around and that is very important at a place as you can always talk with them and get to know them”.
For Ginny this place was a DE -stressor as the entire environment will get you relaxed with soft music that you will enjoy the bright smiles on the face of every person around the place and most of all the quiet and private location.
“I love the food here. The chefs are so friendly and very talented in what they do. I really loved the tropical breakfast menu and not forgetting the delicious dinner. The presentations of the meals are great and each and every dish on the menu is delightful”, she stated.
“I have been on the Sigatoka River Safari, drank Kava and went on the Reef Endeavor cruise which was also very enchanting. I also went to a Fijian church service and what an experience that was for me. Some of the locals who are now my friends took me to Ice Bar and the Eds Bar. These places are great as well. I’ve been on the local buses which is very different from where I m from. The fact that everything is on ‘Fiji Time’ is funny yet things are done with care and I appreciate it”.
“I feel proud to be amongst the Fijians and it’s an honor to be invited around!”

When asked about all the activities done, they had a long list to talk about. The girls had gone to Coral View Resort, Wailailai Resort and Beachcomber Island Resort. “These places were great. Out of all these activities, the best one that we did was the Shark Feeding. We got the opportunity to come up close to 7 different species of sharks. The divers will prep you before the feeding and once you are down, you will see these entire majestic creatures of the sea and be surprised to be up close to them”, said Rebecca and her friend.
